One thing I've been keeping up with lately is my journal. It's basically a faith journal where I write down some of my thoughts, prayers, goals, and letters to God. Sometimes though, it's not always easy to know what to say when taking time to reflect. Today, I bring you guys a list of 25 questions to ask yourself when trying to break into your self-reflecting mindset.
- What has been consuming most of my thoughts lately?
- At what points did I feel happiest this week?
- Did I do something this week that caused disappointment in myself or in others?
- What made me proud this week?
- When was I the most emotional and what caused it?
- Did I face any fears this week?
- Are there any other fears I need to conquer?
- What was something someone said that uplifted me?
- Did I feel angry or sad this week? How did I handle it?
- Did someone do something this week that hurt me? What do I need to say to this person to mend myself or our relationship?
- What are my goals for the month?
- Is there someone I really want to reach out to/ pray for/ check on? Why?
- What was something God revealed to me while praying/ bible study?
- Is there something new that I want to try or learn?
- What are lessons I have learned from the last couple of weeks?
- What do I do to handle negative thoughts?
- How have I handled overwhelming situations in the past? What do I usually do well and what can I do better?
- Am I being good to my friends and family?
- What do I need to change in my life or character in order to grow and succeed further?
- Is there anyone in my circle right now who seems to tear me down rather than bring me up?
- Are there sins in my life that I need to address?
- What has God been placing in my heart lately and how will I respond to it?
- How can I worship/find God in a new way?
- What project do I really want to start?
- How can I use my talents in a new way and are there any talents that I am not using?
The list is sort of in random order but I feel like it's quite well-rounded. For me, I love going over questions like these with God. I don't have all of the answers and often times, it is really difficult to evaluate some aspects of ourselves because we do not truly see ourselves from any other perspective but ours. Talking to God about these things can really open up a deep conversation between you two and allow you to explore God in a new way. You may also stumble upon deeper revelations/solutions as you delve into these questions and their answers and allow Him to transform you.
