I love Sundays. They are so laid back and chill. It's been the same routine for years: church from morning to afternoon and then home to eat and relax for the rest of the day. But usually, I get so caught up in resting that I often don't even bother to prepare much for Monday or the rest of the week in general. It has cost me a lot of stressful, unprepared weeks in the past. This year, though, I discovered the art of preparation. Here are 5 things to do on Sunday to prepare ahead for the week.
- Fill in your calendar
I use a planner to organize my days, weeks, and months. Go ahead and take some time to fill it out on Sunday so you can visualize the upcoming week and make sure nothing sneaks past you. Especially if you know you'll have a busy week, it's good to have somewhat of a timeline. I have honestly been loving BlueSky planners lately. They are affordable, quality products.
2. Check/Respond to emails
I did not realize how important my emails were until I got to college. It's great to check your email one more time before the week starts just to make sure you didn't miss any upcoming deadlines or time-sensitive messages.
3. Review your assignments and notes
Speaking of upcoming deadlines, this is so important! Sometimes, we can forget an assignment here and there and that's totally normal but your grade might suffer for it later. Don't get caught off-guard because you forgot a tiny detail. Stay prepared so there are no shockers when your professor asks if anyone turned in their assignment over the weekend. Reviewing your notes is also a good idea. You never know when a pop quiz can turn up!
4. Self-Care
Taking a little time to take of yourself before a school or work week is a necessity. It takes some stress off and clears your mind, making you feel like you can take on anything! Face masks have become an obsession for me. I put one on while I jam out to music, read a book, or catch up on my favorite YouTube channels.
5. Get a good night of rest
This one isn't always so easy. Especially if you really did forget an assignment and are now trying to finish it in a hurry. Nevertheless, really try to get a good night's sleep before the week starts. Go into your week with energy. Starting out strong is the key to keeping a positive attitude all throughout the week's ups and downs.
We are keeping it short and sweet today, people! Happy Sunday!
