On Saying “NO” to Fear

Hey, guys. What’s up?

The other day, I stumbled upon one of my favorite verses:
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (‭‭I John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬).

Of course, it got me thinking and I want to share some of my thoughts with you all.

I have come to the conclusion that to harbor fear is to allow a great injustice to be done against oneself. It cripples someone from the inside out. One small thought of doubt can place an iron-clad grip on the heart and slowly morph into a trap that hinders one’s progress in life.

Fear is a universal experience, for we have all had to deal with it at one point or another.  Nevertheless, it is imperative that we constantly fight against what seems to be the natural option to accommodate fear. A result of becoming too familiar with it may cause us to allow ourselves to miss out on love, decline the experience of a new adventure, or even block our own blessings. For example, someone may spend 10 years trying to achieve something that should have only taken 10 weeks because of fear; it happens. I have a huge thing about making sure that you are never your own worst enemy. Truly, I can’t stand when people admit to it and don’t, at least,  proceed to do something to change it.

Let us understand our worth. Harboring fear implies a state of powerlessness. Yet, we all have a certain degree of strength and power inside of us, especially for those of us that are born again. Do not forget: “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father” (Romans‬ ‭8:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). Be your own best friend, take a leap of faith, cast all your worries to the Lord, and be at peace. Be your own best friend and don’t allow fear to increase your stress levels, putting your spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional health at risk. Be your own best friend and allow yourself to be set free if you are already struggling with fear.

Thanks for reading, guys! Below is a song that may be super rad to listen to while thinking about eliminating fear from your life. Tell me what you think about today’s post. Y’all are awesome!
