Level Up, love!

Honey, listen. We did not go through what we went through in the past for nothing- or at least I surely didn't!

I've been hearing the phrase "level up" a lot recently (thanks, Ciara) and I am down with the movement. In my last post, I touched on the idea of learning from our experiences and being great as a result of the tough times that God allows us to go through. The point is, we cannot expect to be great and claim to have overcome our obstacles if we are not better versions of ourselves by the end of the tough journey. So, instead of sulking in everything last year wasn't, let us rejoice in every good thing last year was and everything that we have learned up to today. You are better than you were before and that, my friend, is beautiful.

As we face a new chapter, let's keep getting better, baby. During this first week of the New Year, if you haven't already, I encourage you to think of all the new ways in which you can and will, by God's grace, level up. What aspect of your life needs a touch from God? Ask and you shall receive! Don't forget, though, that faith without works is DEAD. Walk and act in faith and stay active in prayer. You can't expect anything to happen if you aren't an active participant in your own life. Hopefully, this encourages you to be spiritually active and walk in faith constantly throughout your journey. As we go to God with our requests on what needs to be changed in our lives this week, let's make sure that we note that what we are aiming for is a lifestyle change and not just a New Year's Resolution. We don't just want to be better for the first couple weeks of January and then resort back to our old habits. That is NOT the move. We are building on who we were yesterday and because (normal) people only build with the best quality materials, we should aim to remove anything that is not in line with God and continue to build with what glorifies God and edifies us. You wouldn't use termite-infested wood to build your log cabin- that's asking for a bad time!

Also, this is installment ONE of my "Level Up" series. I am so excited, y'all. Be sure to comment below or email me. What topics do you want to talk about in this series? Love you and Happy New Year. May His grace and love lead you.
