Level Up: Taking it One Day at a Time
Wednesday, January 23, 2019
Yay! We are finally wrapping up this new year's Level Up series. Aw. It's bittersweet, I know, but don't be sad because we are blasting off into a year full of fun, growth, and uplifting conversation. Plus, as we've established, the leveling-up process is continuous so we'll revisit this topic a lot ;).
I want to wrap up this series with an important reminder: take it one day at a time. My bf tells me this all the time and it's such a key. In the midst of working on ways to grow ourselves, improve our lives, and get closer to God, it's easy to get impatient. It's easy to get sick of constantly thinking about everything we are not and don't yet have. It's easy to get angry with ourselves when we make inevitable mistakes because we feel that they've set us back. It's easy to have such tunnel vision that you don't even appreciate what you have and where you are everyday. Here's a tip: take it easy. Growth and life happen over time. Sometimes, the best things take time and effort. That's okay! Annoying sometimes if you're impatient like me, but still okay!
Take time to practice gratitude and be content with what you do have and where you are now. Appreciate yourself and your life for what it is. Find joy in every moment and in every little thing. Life is way too precious for us to spend most of it in impatient, lustful, want. Take a few minutes everyday to ponder over good things and feelings. Give God thanks because He doesn't owe you the blessings that you have and are coming your way. Love everything you can about this season and stop always living in the future. I used to daydream about the future all the time and didn't take time to appreciate the present. Now, I wish I had been better. Nevertheless, it's okay because I'm better now. Growth is beautiful and growth is the goal. 🍍
A note from me: Now that we're moving on from this series, what are some things that you guys want to talk about this year? Let me know!
